Nature Guide and I always look forward to the return of butterflies in spring. So far we've seen mostly Cabbage Whites and Mourning Cloaks. But yesterday on the D&R Canal towpath, a Pearl Crescent flew in front of me and landed on a broken branch in a leafy spot on the ground. She stayed still with her wings closed for a while.
