August 1 is Swiss National Day. Once upon a time while hiking in the Alps, a beautiful local greeted my friend Emil and me. Paul and I wish all of our dear friends in Switzerland a very happy holiday!

Thank you for your greetings, Karen and Paul. We are living in a very small country in the middle of Europe and we are proud on our long democratic history. Today we celebrate our National Day in the southern State (Canton) of Switzerland, called Ticino. The weather is very much summer (very hot temperature of 33 degrees Celsius). We are also thinking of you, Karen and Paul, and the beautiful time we spent together in the Swiss alps and in Ticino . Monica and Emil
